I'm going to... Hello, and as always, welcome to the Sister Wives Professor. That is me. I am Dr. Adam,

Professor of Communication and longtime follower of the TLC series Sister Wives.

And here we are now with the first of several.

It seems like one-on-one tell-all specials to wrap up season 19.

I believe we're going to get four of these things.

I don't know.

We're at least going to get more than this one.

And I don't know about you, but I am really ready for it.

I don't want to end up talking about this over and over again because I just kept remarking on it as I was watching it. But man, this is such a tonal shift to say the least from the previous three episodes.

And it was always going to be, but to go just from, you know, the last three episodes and the gravitas and the

seriousness and the complexity of those episodes, both in terms of just the emotions, and also how

they were presented. And I don't know how you feel, but I was pleasantly surprised by TLC and

Puddle Monkey and the way that Garrison's passing was handled. I thought it had enough space to breathe across three episodes.

I thought that the Brown family was very, very generous.

I've had more time to sit with the filming of the memorial service, by the way.

I was really mixed on it.

Last week, I'm sure if you heard the podcast, you may remember that.

And honestly, other people have chimed in and helped me to understand that the Brown family was being very, very kind by allowing us as viewers to see what we saw. And now I feel a lot more grateful than anything else that we were able to see everything that we saw. So that is definitely a shift. Yeah, big tonal shift.
