My entitled sister-in-law lies to the entire family, claiming that my husband and I made her go homeless, and that were the reason she's sleeping in her car.

And after a lot of backlash from the extended family, we are still recovering from this lie, and I'm seriously still upset, and I don't know what to do.

Here's what happened.

Okay, so two years ago, my husband, who we will call Sam, as well as myself, live with my parents for a year, and this is because we were looking for a house.

Meanwhile, Sam's sister, who we will call Lucy, moved to our country for a job.

The plan was for her husband, who we will call Tom, as well as her son, to stay in their home country until Lucy found a job.

Lucy, Sam, and I hung out a lot, and every time

we would ask her how the house hunting's going. And Lucy would say, I'm working 12 hours a day,

I don't have time to look. And that right now she's living in Airbnb's. Now, we of course would

ask her if she needed help looking, but she would just say, oh no, I'm fine, don't worry about it.

Well, over the next few weeks, oh no, I'm fine, don't worry about it. Well,

over the next few weeks, we helped Lucy download house hunting apps and did take her to open houses, but she made zero offers. By then, I suspected Lucy was hoping we'd offer to let her

stay with us, that is, until she could find a house of her own. But it wasn't my house,

and my parents weren't offering. Three months

passed by and Lucy started saying that she needed to make sure she kept booking this Airbnb on time

or else she would end up sleeping in her car. Now it was winter so I said, well, this isn't our house,

so I can't let you live here. But if it comes to staying in your car, I bet we could figure

something out for a night, but again, she says, oh no, I'm fine, I'm fine.

A couple weeks later, Lucy calls Sam to say that she was staying in a hotel.

She said that it's much better than living in her car.
