Standard Issue For All Women

Hello and welcome to episode 250 of The Standard Issue Podzene. I'm Mickey Noonan and

it is fair to say I will not be a dancer in a music video any time soon.

Now I know what this is a reference to but obviously most people won't. Which one did you do, Mickey?

I went to a music video dance class. We got to learn a dance routine to Whitney Houston's Queen

of the Night which was very exciting. It was it was brilliant to have a bit of Whitney but

oh my goodness Jen you know this we went to one together a couple of years ago. They were so fast.

They are so fast and at one point I had to do a knee drop and I've got like a massive egg on

my knee now because I'm 46 what the fuck am I thinking? This isn't great for podcasts but is

there quite a lot of like head this kind of thing in Queen of the Night? Yeah the teacher looked

amazing. I looked like I was fitting. It just wasn't she everything she did looked really sexy

and I just looked awkward just really awkward. Apart from the clicks I was good at the clicks.

I've actually done a dance like a video class. On a hen if you can believe it. Incredible.

What did you dance to? No it was like a like a woman's festival thing and it was for children

and we danced, danced like Beyonce in the five-year-old I was weird, got it within seconds

and I was absolutely terrible. We learnt the bit and I was like all right okay so we just repeat

this thing over and over and over and over and then they were like now now this is move too yeah

and you were like what I was just at one point she tore us the steps for the legs and she was like

this and she went through it and we practiced it we practiced it several times and then she went

and for the arms and I actually said out loud oh my god I can't do two things at once. The thing is

because they teach you like the because I've done a few of these they teach you like the beginning

bit which is always like a bit more like oh we're easing into it we're easing into it and then it
