A deal's been reached to avoid a government shutdown, but there's a snag.

Lawmakers left Capitol Hill yesterday, after all senators couldn't agree to move quickly on the spending package,

even though it had been agreed to earlier in the day

by both parties and the White House.

Senators are expected to return today

with an eye to send the bills back to the House.

But Washington being Washington,

negotiations can change rapidly.

And CNN's Manu Raju tells us from the Capitol,

even one senator objecting to having a vote can cause delays.

It's very time-consuming to go get overcome those objections and they were unable to resolve those

objections on Thursday night, which is why the Senate Republican leader said, all right, we're

going to come back on Friday and see if we can resolve these objections then.

The House has been out of session all week, and they still have to approve this bill to keep the government open. And we don't expect them to come back until at least Monday at the moment.
