1:05.0	So this is from the Holocaust, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
1:09.4	I'll put the links to both of the places where I'm reading this from.
1:12.7	On September 15th, 1935, the Nazi regime announced two new laws,
1:17.2	the Reich Citizenship Law and the law for the protection of German blood
1:22.3	and German honor.
1:24.6	These laws informally became known as the Nuremberg laws or Nuremberg race laws.
1:31.8	This is because they were first announced at a Nazi party rally held in the
1:35.9	German city of Nuremberg. Why did the Nazis enact the Nuremberg race laws?
1:42.0	Are you hearing the word race whoopi? Whoops. The Nazis
1:48.4	enacted the Nuremberg laws because they want to put their idea about race into law.
1:53.0	They believe in the false theory that the world is divided into distinct races
1:56.7	that are not equally strong and valuable.
1:59.2	The Nazis considered Germans to be members of the supposedly superior Arian race.
2:06.1	They saw the so-called Arian German race as the strongest and most valuable race of all.
