Kerry Mielstein, and this is going to be a short cast where we're just going to touch on two

themes very quickly that are themes that we've kind of been going, drawing on and highlighting

as we've gone along. The entire reading for the week is in John, the Book of John, and as I've

said before, in the book of John,

you especially see this theme of the Savior and his relationship with the father and doing the

father's will. So I want to highlight just a few elements of that. We can spend hours on it.

We're going to spend just a few elements of that. And I also just want to talk about some of the

significance of the healing of the man born blind that is in John chapter 9. So let's jump in and talk about some of the significance of the healing of the man born blind that is in John

Chapter 9. So let's jump in and talk about this stuff. We'll start in John 7, which has one of

these fantastic sermons by the Savior about his relationship with the Father. And it starts at

the Feast of Tabernacles. That's also, let me make sure that I'm

remembering this right. It is a Feast of Tabernacles, which is also Sukkot, or the Feast of Booth,

is another name. You'll hear that by. This is celebrating a number of things, but mostly how God

took care of them in the wilderness and the giving of the law in some ways and some other things. But that's why these tabernacles are these temporary dwellings because God took care of them in the wilderness. There are a bunch of other things that are part of it as well. But that's what we're going to focus on. So the Savior goes up to Jerusalem after telling him he's not going to, he goes up to Jerusalem.

And they're at the feast, and people are asking where he is.

And then in the middle of it, Jesus goes up into the temple.

And there are a lot of special rituals and kind of pageants, almost as it were, at the temple at that time and uh Jesus is teaching them

love to hear what he taught and the Jews are marveling saying he was never you know in a

yeshiva as it were he was never following like uh either Shemai or any of the great uhis of the day. He's not studying with them. He says,
