Hey everybody Rob Maower here with a quick bonus weekend episode because Tesla has finally released Tesla Short Shorts into their merchandise shop.

In Classic Elon Musk style, the man that was born 69 days after April 20th,

Tesla has priced the Shorts at $69.420. If you're not familiar with the Shorts joke, this is in reference to people

that short Tesla stock or bet against Tesla stock. A high number of short sellers and

vocal Shortssellers is something that Tesla has had to combat for their entire history pretty much

So Elon has often responded to the shorts antagonization in kind with his own antagonization on Twitter

Calling for things like the short burn of the century,

posting music videos with lyrics of who likes short shorts, and then saying he would send

infamous short seller David Einhorn a box of short shorts to comfort him through his difficult time of not renewing his Tesla lease.

Quickly thereafter, Einhorn did actually receive a box of short shorts.

That didn't actually come from Elon, though. It came from the short company, Chubbies.

But that did seem to put the idea in Elon's mind and back at that time in August of 2018,

he tweeted, quote, Short Shorts coming soon to Tesla merch, end quote.

So it has taken some time but Elon now finally

delivering on that promise from 2018 with Tesla stock hitting new all-time

highs after just beating consensus estimates pretty significantly for the Q2 delivery and production report.

The timing of the release of the short shorts is pretty interesting though even from an investor

perspective.

As weird as it is to talk about some of this stuff sometimes it is still worth looking

into for us and the timing here is definitely interesting remember at the end of

the quarter Elon Musk sent an email out to all Tesla employees saying that

breaking even was looking super tight that it made a difference
