Summary

There was something so special about that first Shepherds’ Meal that we couldn’t wait to “do it again next year.” And so we have. In the thirty-plus years since then, our family has enjoyed a Shepherds’ Meal every Christmas Eve, no matter where we lived. Even the preparation has become a tradition—a family affair.

Hi everyone, welcome to Add Home with Sally. I'm Sally Clarkson and I have the biggest

0:13.0

privilege in the world to be with so many friends from all over the world who join me every

0:18.6

week to listen to my stories, inspiration, biblical encouragement. And I am just so glad

0:24.6

that you're here today. Thanks so much for joining me.

Hello my friends, it's Sally Clarkson and it's the last few days of advent, the time

0:44.6

when we remember what it's like to wait and hope for Christ. Even as the Jews did and

0:53.0

the whole world was waiting for good news, it had been in a fallen world. We know and

and had compassion on them. He said, I, I will be the Savior. And how did he come? The

1:35.8

same way all of us came into the world through a mom, a mama and through a family, a marriage

1:44.8

and he grew up as we did and he brought about his light, his love, his goodness and his

1:52.8

salvation on the earth to show us his compassion, his redemption, his restoration and forgiveness.

2:01.0

So we're entering the last few days of that. But I thought today I'm probably going to

2:06.6

skip a couple of podcasts in the next week because I'm just going to spend time with my

2:11.6

children and my family and my friends and really focus on the things that I believe that

2:17.4

they need from me. But I thought I might read a little bit today. Some of you have said

2:23.0

you really like it when I've been reading lightly from some of my books. And many of you

2:30.3

know the tradition that I'm going to be reading about today and many of you have never heard

2:36.2

of it. But I wrote a book called The Life Giving Table as well as the fact that we mentioned
