0:24.8	Hi guys, it got a special interview for you today. It's actually with two people. So that is
0:28.8	Shane Bernard and Shane Everett, but they are better known as Shane and Shane. They are the
0:33.0	Texas-based contemporary worship music duo. And they've been huge in the contemporary Christian
0:37.6	music scene for about 20 years now, well over 20 years now. Actually, it was early 2000s when they
0:42.4	got started. And you guys have heard me talk about them about these guys on this podcast quite a bit
0:47.1	because as I've told you before and as we I talked about in detail in episode 176 of this podcast,
0:51.7	I'm not big on Christian worship music. Contemporary Christian music as a genre just doesn't hit my
0:56.2	ear holes in a way that is pleasant to me. Like, I don't enjoy it. But there are pockets of that.
1:01.1	I've talked about the alter music out of Tennessee, but I mainly talk about Shane and Shane.
1:06.1	And I talk about why their music is that way for me because yes, they sing some of the songs that
1:11.5	are maybe more so on the effeminate side or they've done a lot of covers of really popular Christian
1:16.1	music and all that. It's like, I don't think you like that stuff. But the thing about them is they
1:20.0	are very, very serious about something. And I read this during the interview, but I want to read it
1:23.2	from their website. This is why they create the music that they create. Okay. So here we go. Here's
1:27.7	from their website. Their desire has always been to glorify the Lord instead of themselves. And they
1:32.8	do so by writing music that is biblically based, lyrically rich and sonically engaging. And so,
1:40.6	I mean, just being able to do those things, most of the stuff you listen to on Caleb or air one or
1:45.3	any of those playlists that you get on Spotify or whatever, are they biblically based,
1:48.8	lyrically rich and sonically engaging? I mean, I defy you to make an entire playlist of 10 songs
1:55.2	that's, you know, in the top 40 on a Christian radio right now that do all three of those things.
