Denay here. In today's question and answer episode I'm going to be taking a question from

Lindsay. Lindsay wrote, I've really enjoyed reading your blog lately. I love the idea of simplifying what

we own as far as toys and clothing. The kids

capsule wardrobe idea is genius. But I'm wondering how to go about this with my

older kids. They're 10 and 7. I used to just get rid of stuff that I

thought was poor quality or not in line with our family

values, but as they get older, they really want to say in what toys and clothing they keep.

I want to respect their space and their opinions about their belongings, but at the same time,

I feel like I can see a higher purpose in getting rid of the clutter, and they just seem to want to keep everything.

The amount of clutter that comes into our home is unbelievable. I'd love some ideas on this.
