It's Friday, not our usual drop day, but we have a treat for you to celebrate Emmy nomination season.

I love TV, and I especially love when pitch-perfect performances and intricately constructed characters get celebrated.

And there's a lot of that this Emmy season.

Like Jeff Hillerer of the show Somebody

Somewhere, and from one of the most fun episodes of Death, Sex, and Money in the last year,

he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Best Drama nominations included

some of my favorites, The Pit, The White Lotus, and Slow Horses. Best Comedy Nods for Hacks, Abbott Elementary,

only murders in the building. And for the show, The Studio from Apple TV Plus, starring Seth

Rogan and made by Seth Rogen and his childhood friend and longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg.

That show got 23 Emmy nominations. We tore through

the studio in my household. There were at least three different occasions when my husband was like,

let's watch the studio. And I had to remind him that, sorry, we had already watched the season finale.

In particular, the second episode of

this show featuring Sarah Pauley as a director trying to get this one long uninterrupted shot

that keeps getting interrupted by a studio exec doing moronic things. That episode is worth watching

more than once.

And so today, we are sharing with you an interview that my interviewing colleague, Sam Fregoso, of the podcast Talk Easy, did with Seth Rogen, just as the studio was coming out last spring.

There's a lot I love about their conversation. They both are very close fans, observers, and critics of Hollywood culture and commerce. And they also broke out early

in their fields, like super early. Seth started doing stand-up at 13 and was on TV as a teenager

and freaks and geeks and had a screenplay

written with his friend Evan by the time he hit Hollywood. That screenplay would become the classic
