1:32.2 | So patients who have hot flashes and things of that nature, night sweats, associated with menopause, |
1:38.9 | it may be a non-hormonal type medication that may help with some of those symptoms. |
1:48.1 | So the mechanism, the way these drugs work is they increase serotonin and noraphyne in the brain, |
1:56.3 | and they do that by inhibiting the reuptake within the synapse. |
2:02.1 | So again, increases serotonin, increases noraphenephrine. |
2:05.1 | The pain component is always taught and associated with that norepinephrine effect compared to SSRIs, |
2:15.9 | which generally only target the serotonin re-uptake inhibitor. |
