So we're going to continue in our series going through the Book of Ezra.

So if you would turn in your Bibles or if you have a copy of the sermon notes in front of you,

turn to Ezra chapter 4 verses 1 through 6. This will be our text for this morning. Ezra

chapter 4 versus 1 through 6. If you're one who brings your Bible with you, that'll serve you well this morning,

just because there will be some

larger portions of scripture that I'll potentially ask you to turn to. If you don't have your

Bible with you, that's okay. I've got all the texts in the sermon notes, so you can follow along

there as well. So once more, Ezra chapter 4, verses 1 through 6. As is our tradition here at covenant bible church would you join me

esra chapter four versus one 1 through 6. The Bible says this, now when the

adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the returned exiles were building a temple to the

Lord, the God of Israel, they approached Zrebable and the heads of Father's houses houses and said to them, let us build with you,

for we worship your God as you do. And we have been sacrificing to him ever since the days of

Eser Hadan, king of Assyria, who brought us here. But Zerubabel, Joshua, and the rest of the heads of

fathers' houses in Israel, said to them,

you have nothing to do with us in building a house to our God, but we alone will build to the Lord,
