Hi, Crime Junkies. I'm your host, Ashley Flowers, and the story I have for you today is about

0:05.8

a man who shook the city of Los Angeles to its core. Despite operating in plain sight

0:11.7

for almost two decades, it took a twist of fate for his reign of terror to finally come

0:17.3

to an end. But, questions about the full extent of his crimes still remain to this very day.

This is the story of Mac Ray Edwards.

0:55.1

It's the morning of Friday, March 6, 1970, and a man named Sergeant George Rock is on duty

1:06.2

at the Foothill Community Police Station in Pecuemac, California, which is just north

1:10.6

of LA. The Foothill Division is actually part of the LAPD that serves multiple communities

1:58.0

boy that he's with. There is very little out there about who this kid is. Why is he

2:03.3

with Mac or even what ends up happening to him after this whole ordeal? We know he's

2:08.4

handed over to juvenile police, but after that he kind of just disappears from the story.

2:14.0

And that story that Mac goes on to tell is wild. He says that earlier that morning, like

2:20.8

5.30 a.m., he and this 15 year old boy broke into the home of Mac's old neighbors, the

2:27.0

co-ins. Inside, they found the co-ins three daughters, 14 year old Jan, 13 year old Cindy,

2:33.9

and 12 year old Valerie. Mac and the teenager rounded them up and hurried them into his
