Hi, friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of

the New Testament, the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ

life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. Each month,

we get to read all four books. So make sure you're subscribed and join us as we read the Gospels

together. We say it a lot around here. You do not have to be in the Gospels every day to be changed,

but every day you're in the Gospels will change you. So this week, we will continue reading the

Gospels chronologically as we finish up Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. We're reading from the NIV,

the new international version. So we're reading the stories in the order they took place. Today,

we get to read from all four books. I'll share the references with you here at the beginning

and you can find those in the show notes below as well. So just listen or read along in your own

Bible and then I'll pray and that's it. So today is September 27th and I'll be reading John 18,

1 through 2. Mark 14, 32 to 42. Matthew 26, 36 to 46. Luke 22, 39 to 46. Mark 14, 43 to 52. Matthew 26,

47 to 56. Luke 22, 47 to 53. John 18, 3 through 24. Mark 14, 53 to 65. Matthew 26, 57 to 68.

Mark 14, 66 to 72. Matthew 26, 69 to 75. Luke 22, 54 to 62. And John 18, 25 to 27 in the NIV.

Jesus prays in Gethsemane from John. When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples

across the Kedren Valley. On the other side, there was a garden and he and his disciples went into it.

Now Judas who betrayed him knew the place because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.

From Mark. They went to a place called Gethsemane and Jesus said to his disciples,

sit here while I pray. He took Peter, James and John along with him and he began to be deeply

distressed and troubled. My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. He said to them,

stay here and keep watch. Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible,

the hour might pass from him. Abba, father, he said, everything is possible for you.
