birth of serial killer Patrick Mackay. Let's go to September 25, 1952, to Middlesex, England.

Patrick Mackay was born into violence.

His father, Harold, was a World War II veteran who never recovered from what he saw during the fighting.

Harold turned to alcohol and became an angry drunk.

He physically abused his wife and son.

Abuse and chaos at such a young age

had a profound effect on Mackay.

He became an angry child who didn't get along well with his peers.

Harold died of a heart attack when Mackay was just 10 years old, but the damage was

already done. Supposedly, the last words Mackay heard from his father were, quote,

remember to be good. The sentiment might sound benign, but failure to be good in Mackay's household

often resulted in brutal abuse.

Mackay didn't attend his father's funeral and carried a photo of him around everywhere,

forever terrified of the man who was supposed to care for him.

Not long after Harold's death, Mackay started getting into more trouble. He was a horrible

bully to his peers and faced serious discipline for his aggression. He started torturing small
