| 0:06.0 | It's Monday the 12th of September. |
| 0:08.9 | A bright and sunny day, at least where I am, because I have the good fortune to be in the Pyrenees. |
| 0:17.7 | And if I sound just a little breathless, that's because I'm walking up a steep hill. |
| 0:24.6 | I'm on the GR10. That is, I say probably Europe's finest long distance footpath. |
| 0:35.6 | It runs from On Dai on the Atlantic coast to Banjus on the Mediterranean shore. |
| 0:45.3 | And it follows the Pyrenees. |
| 0:48.3 | Well, it climbs up and down over the Pyrenees. |
| 0:53.3 | A superb journey which, if you were to begin at one end, |
| 0:58.0 | an end at the other, and you were reasonably fit, |
| 1:02.0 | you could probably hope to cover the ground in six days. |
| 1:07.0 | I've actually been trying to cover the ground for the last, oh, 23 years. |
| 1:15.9 | And that's because I first began walking this path around the turn of the century. |
| 1:26.5 | And the great thing about the GR-10 |
| 1:28.3 | is that with the wide choice of flights and trains |
| 1:34.1 | from the UK and from Paris, |
| 1:39.3 | you can quite easily plug in for a few days, |
| 1:43.4 | which is what I'm doing right now and |
| 1:45.6 | actually what I'm very much motivated by is this five-day trip is a walk to Lourde |
| 1:57.5 | Airport yes it is I will be quite soon veering off the GR10 and heading north. |
| 2:09.6 | I arrived on Saturday and made my way by bus to Cotterley, which is one of those great mountain towns, |
| 2:20.3 | of which the French do so well. |
