This is CBS I on the World. I'm John Batch with my colleague Grant Nushe,

the United States Marine Corps retired, author of When China Attacks, North Asia and the Japanese

Islands, the first island chain to Taiwan. That is the potential battlefield for a China

aggressor, kinetic aggressor. However, there are other kinds of aggression

by the People's Republic of China. I mentioned in the news in these last days, seven Chinese

nationals without documentation have been detained on Guam Island. This is way to the north,

part of the north, in the area of the

northern Marianas. Guam is U.S. territory. There's a very large series of bases on Guam, U.S. Navy,

Marine Corps, everything. And these seven Chinese nationals were detained coming in a single boat

from Tinian, I believe, perhaps Saipan nearby.

And they were arriving during a missile test, a very important missile test,

because Guam is considered a major target on the day that China attacks.

The question is, are these same Chinese nationals wandering around without proper documentation

or explanation? Are they something that the people of Okinawa see? Are they something the people of

Japan see? The people of Taiwan, the people of South Korea? Grant, I'm beginning to think there's a

pattern here. These seven detained Chinese

nationals, we don't have any more information. Four of them are being especially given

attention because they were near the air base during the test. Who are they? Well, why does this

keep happening? Is it just because the Chinese are so eager to do off-the-book works in other places?

Well, there are a lot of Chinese who just want to get out of China and make some money.

But at the same time, this provides an excellent cover for Chinese security services to deploy their people.
