0:58.8	Well, Carl, we begin with a key day for the small but growing unionization drive over at Amazon to elections, one at an Alabama warehouse, another to Staten Island warehouse those are
1:04.6	wrapping up workers at the Bessemer Alabama location voting for the second
1:08.2	time on whether to join the rws d u now this is a do-over after the National Labor Relations Board found that
1:14.6	Amazon improperly interfered in that union contest last spring. That one was
1:19.3	rejected. The turnout this time though, it's lower. lower roughly 39% versus the 55% last spring
1:25.9	voting meanwhile at the Staten Island warehouse finished today ballot counting
1:29.3	expected to begin this afternoon there is a third warehouse guys in Brooklyn that is expected to vote later this month.
1:35.8	So really what began as one small movement in Bessmer has now gained traction and we have seen
1:40.9	unionization efforts gain traction across the country including several
1:44.1	Starbucks cafes, but unlike those smaller stores where some only had a total of 10 workers
1:49.5	that were voting, Amazon Union organizers, they have to mobilize thousands of workers at each warehouse.
1:56.2	And John, the main takeaway here is something we've been talking about for over a year now.
2:01.3	These labor pressures are growing. they haven't gone anywhere over at
2:05.3	Amazon and eventually that could threaten that sort of ruthless efficiency that
2:09.9	Amazon has built up over the last few decades.
