| 0:00.0 | Hey everybody, Rob Mauer here. Welcome back to Tesla Daily. Today we are going to be |
| 0:11.1 | talking about the huge news that the Senate has passed the so-called Inflation Reduction |
| 0:14.9 | Act of 2022, which of course contains the huge updates to the EV tax credit here in the |
| 0:20.1 | US. We'll talk about if there are any changes to this version from the version we had talked |
| 0:23.6 | about previously. Then we've got a few pieces of factory news, some news on FSD Beta and |
| 0:28.1 | more. Looking at the markets, the trend of a strong start for Tesla, and then a decline |
| 0:32.6 | throughout the rest of the day continued today, Tesla peaking at around $915 per share, |
| 0:37.2 | falling to $871 to close the day up just three quarters of a percent, still outperforming |
| 0:42.6 | the NASDAQ, which was down a tenth of a percent on the day. Of course, for the market this |
| 0:46.6 | week, all eyes are going to be on the CPI report or consumer price index reports coming |
| 0:50.5 | Wednesday morning, and then we'll have producer price index or PPI on Thursday as well. |
| 0:54.5 | For CPI, it looks like the expectation is for a 0.2% increase month of a month, which |
| 0:59.3 | would be a decline from the month of a month increases we have been seeing. That would |
| 1:02.6 | be for the headline number, and then core CPI is expected to increase half a percent month |
| 1:06.8 | of a month. From a Tesla calendar perspective, we should be getting July sales data very |
| 1:11.0 | soon. Sounds like that is expected to be reported tomorrow morning in China at 10 a.m. Beijing |
| 1:15.6 | time, so that would be 10 p.m. Eastern tonight on Monday and 7 p.m. Pacific. Remember, |
| 1:21.2 | we had previously talked about how the CPCA was estimating that Tesla's wholesale sales |
| 1:26.0 | retail next port would be 30,000 for July. Remember that is different than production, |
| 1:30.5 | we should see production outpace, so I was expecting 40,000 before we heard that number |
| 1:34.7 | that's kind of the benchmark that I would put for production. |
| 1:37.1 | All right, let's move into the electric vehicle tax credit. Of course, this is being updated |
