The people in Syria are fighting because to not fight means they'll just be killed.

Why did it produce something as just grotesque and ghastly as ISIS?

It's corruption that gets reasonable good people to sign on with a radical movement that they

don't particularly like.

We really wanted to do a kind of anatomy of a civil war. We tried to do everything we possibly

could and followed every lead we possibly could. Why do they keep going? Why do they

get worse? If you can understand why something happens,

you might be able to prevent it from happening the next time.

You take men and put them in a platoon in combat and all of a sudden you have that primordial closeness.

We are at our best when we're in a small group facing an adversary.

As horrible as war is,

it also brings out some enormously noble and admirable qualities in people. Oh, uh, yeah.

Nominated director of the documentary film Restrepo and we have Nick

Quested and they are here to talk about their brand new film called Hell on Earth

and it's about the Syrian Civil War and the Rise of ISIS. This is a fascinating film and I learned so

much and also Sebastian goes deep and talks about what people do when civil war

ensues and how we go towards extremists.

It's a really interesting film and Sebastian is also a fascinating guy.
