for fantasy and horror films, but this case actually happened in 1970's Britain.

David Robert Farant, born January 1946 in West Ham London, was the eldest of two children,

his sister younger by two years.

He attended Hendon Prep School until after failing his 11-plus exams, he was sent to

Hawkehurst Court, a private boarding school in Sussex from the age of 11 to 13.

Farant returned home on the holidays.

After that he attended Thornlow School in Weymouth for two years, but left school at 15

with no qualifications.

He later told the medical officer that his mother died in 1959 when he was 13.

Half a decade later his father married a much younger woman, but sadly he was diagnosed

with an aggressive form of multiple sclerosis.

David's father died from complications three years later.

After leaving school he took jobs as a kitchen porter and a waiter, moving between Spain

and France over a period of the next four years.
