There was a story that emerged yesterday

that actually, for much of the day,

was getting more play on cable news

than the presidential campaign

and assorted things on Capitol Hill

and other political items,

all, which we'll get to.

But I was so struck by this that I'm going to make it story number one.

And it's the tragic and disgusting tale of Sean D.D. Combs.

You know, I mentioned on yesterday's podcast that there had been a sealed indictment,

and obviously these investigations seem like they've been going on forever. But yesterday,

the indictment was unsealed, and we got to look at what the government is charges are. And in

addition, Combs is being held in a pretty dilapidated jail in Brooklyn.

And he's not getting out of there, I think, before the trial.

The prosecutors do not want him out on bond.

Obviously, the guy is a zillionaire, and he probably could make whatever bail was required.

So, you know, this is a guy who not only became incredibly famous,

but was a producer of hip-hop and R&B hits for Notorious B.I.G.
