I first read Scott McCloud's understanding comics in a graphic novels class I took in college and it was I think the first example of a graphic novel in non-fiction form that I had ever

really seen and you know the class in general was such a great way of

understanding why graphic novels actually matter in the world and that's where

Scott McCloud comes into.

Scott has written about comics and created some beautiful comics for decades.

He's also been at the forefront of exploring the ways that comics can evolve in digital spaces.

We thought we'd start with the heart of his nerd origin story.
