My name is Jenna, and this is Smarter News, and I'm happy to see you the day after the Super Bowl, which some are arguing,

should actually be a holiday, a real bona fide holiday in the United States of America. So let me give you a little backstory to this. A little personal story this morning, I was running to work and wanting to get to the office and get set up, but I really needed a cup of coffee. So I decided I could pull over to this place. It's right on the way to the office and hopefully just get a little something. So I'm, you know, prepped and ready for you guys, which is the whole point. It's like, you know, you say, I'm like an, I am like an NFL football player. It's the same thing. You need to warm up and I needed a little bit of coffee. And this place that I usually stop at is usually very busy. It's a place where a lot of people go to meet. In fact, funny story, a couple years ago, when I first moved to Texas and actually first launched

Smarter News, I met with someone there who had an amazing business pedigree and invested

in so many different companies and a friend of a friend and wanted us to meet and talk.

And it was one of the worst meetings I've ever had.

I walked away, totally dejected, and then also fired up to make smarter news a reality

more than ever before because he sat, I know exactly where we sat in this coffee shop. And he told

me that smarter news would never make it, that people don't like nonpartisan news, that unless I had

hundreds of thousands of people that were following us in any given time, no one would care, yada, yada, yada.

So this is why I really remember this coffee shop. But, you know, you've got to go back and

you've got to reclaim territory. Eddie how I walk into this coffee shop that's usually really

busy and no one's there. It's absolutely silent. Literally, no one is in the coffee shop. It was almost like a Western

movie where you open the door, like into the saloon, and there's like the tumbleweeds that go by
