Hi, everybody. Welcome to Scoop. It's great to see you as we launch into a brand new month together.

0:08.4

It's already shaping up to be a really busy news week with a lot of different topics to look at everything from fashion to finance to foreign policy.

0:16.3

We got the jobs report on Friday. So some data on the economy. We have a full moon. So it's a little bit of

0:21.8

everything that we're looking at this week. And so perhaps we're setting a tone for the month ahead,

0:25.8

which is going to be a busy month of news as it typically is in May. As we sort of wind down,

0:31.6

a lot of activity in Congress as the lawmakers move towards their summer schedule,

0:36.6

and as we move closer to some decisions

0:38.9

from the Supreme Court. And May is also that realization, isn't it, that we're suddenly not

0:43.5

just starting out in 2023, that we're in the middle of the year. And that feels both good

0:48.2

and a little disorienting because you wonder where the first part of the year actually went, right?

0:54.0

I feel a little

in and out, and it's been great in a lot of different ways. I've been traveling with my kids for

1:04.9

some work opportunities as well as some personal opportunities too, so a little work and pleasure

1:10.6

mixed together. And it's

1:11.8

been wonderful to be able to bring my children along with me as we go through a variety of different

1:19.0

activities, including taking a look at the monuments and the museums in Washington, D.C.

1:23.8

And we were just in San Diego this weekend for a very special event, which I'll tell you about in just a moment. But as some of you know, and this phrase is very, I remember what I heard

1:33.2

this for the very first time as a new parent, traveling with children is a trip, not a vacation.

1:40.4

And that is the truth. Here's a picture of them at the San Diego Coast, eight, seven, and three years old, full of energy and personality. And I love them. But wow, it is a lot of work to pack everybody up and get them on the road. And I share this because some of you may work in the environment I used to work in, which was a corporate environment,

2:01.6

very structured. It was very difficult to take time off. And during those times, I really longed

2:05.9

for more flexibility. And now I have a lot of flexibility because I run my own company and I'm able
