What's missing from our reporting on the Middle East?

How should you approach LONG Covid?

We tackle news on each topic, but first Jenna shares a personal story that inspired this broadcast ~ a conversation with her 9 year-old son about football reminds us all why "curiosity over commentary" matters.

Hi, everyone. Welcome to Scoop, where you get the scoop on this week's news. My name is Jenna,

1:08.3

and this is smarter news, and I'm so happy to see you today on a rainy

1:11.3

day in Texas when we have a lot of news to work through together and some great questions, by the way.

1:16.4

So thank you so much for that. I'm actually going to start off things a little bit different today.

1:20.2

I had this very interesting interaction with my son last night. And although I usually just want to defer to the top headlines right away, this

1:29.7

interaction has really inspired how I put together this broadcast. And I think you might enjoy hearing

2:01.1

art project under the moon. The house was completely destroyed. I used frozen food for dinner.

2:06.5

You get the whole scene. But there was a bright light at the end of the day. It was football Sunday.

2:11.4

And we were going to watch a little bit of football. And this is something that I really enjoyed doing

2:16.1

with my family. My father played in the NFL.

2:19.3

And I'd love to have him actually join us on Scoot before the Super Bowl.
