Welcome to Scoop, where you get the scoop on this week's news.

0:05.0

My name is Jenna and this is Smarter News.

0:09.0

Well, hello everyone from a chilly and cool central Texas day.

0:21.8

It's just about 70 degrees.

0:23.6

And suddenly it feels like fall.

0:25.4

It is something that we anticipate here in Texas because it's just so dang hot all the time.

0:30.9

And I was sharing with some of our scoop insiders today that my children all were looking

0:35.1

for sweatshirts this morning because it was about 60 degrees.

0:39.1

That's just because we're not acclimated yet. We're not, we're not sure what to do when it's

0:43.5

kind of borderline. We're not, we're not completely sure in Texas. Is it here to stay? I just got a

0:49.3

great request on our live feed from Candice, who's my neighbor here. I don't know her personally, but Candice were neighbors apparently because we live very close to each other. 1:11.2

you guys. We can't. We just can't because it's such an interesting week in news. We're going to

1:15.2

need that crisp, calm, cool weather so we can extend it to our own posture throughout this week.

1:22.4

Because we've got a lot of politics this week. We also have a lot of emotional news. And I always

1:27.4

want to leave some room for that

1:28.9

because when we mark a date like September 11th, there's an emotional toll and reaction to that,

1:36.0

as there should be, because it's one of the most significant events in American history.

1:41.1

And so we got to leave some space for that. And as we've talked about over the last couple weeks, I think it's important to remind

1:46.5

ourselves, during this period of time, there's that thin sort of veil of like political

1:52.8

stress, even if you don't find yourself that political or that connected.

1:57.2

It's just this all that talk about politics in the election, just adds that little something, that little layer on top, which can cause a little extra stress and anxiety in our lives.

2:05.4

And I think if we're just aware of that, it's helpful.
