Today, we're going to talk about exactly how the filibuster works and what reforming

it would look like, along with some major updates on senators who suddenly switched their

positions on it.

I also interview Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer about the state of reforming the

filibuster, whether the whole Democratic caucus is getting on board, confirming liberal

judges to the courts, and a certain Easter egg in the American Rescue Plan that's going

to impact a lot of people.

Okay, so with the American Rescue Plan done, all eyes are shifting now to Democrats

other legislative priorities.

But whereas we were able to pass the ARP with only a simple majority since it passed

through the process of reconciliation, our other legislative priorities can't take advantage

of that, which brings us to the filibuster.

And we've had some major moves this week regarding some moderate Democrats who hadn't

supported any changes to the filibuster who are now expressing openness to reforming

it.

And of course, was this statement by Joe Manchin.

The filibuster should be painful.

It really should be painful.

We haven't, we've made it more comfortable over the years, not intentionally, maybe just

evolved into that.

Maybe it has to be more painful.
