Hello everyone, happy 2021. I have two things to update you on today. The schedule of the

podcast and some important changes to the website and Patreon.

So there will be three new episodes coming your way in the next three weeks. As promised,

these include an episode where I answer all your questions about Alexias and the Crusades,

and then a show where we talk about the succession from Alexias to his son John and Anna's alleged

coup attempt.

The third episode is an interview with the lead singer of Metal Band Judicator who recorded

an entire album about Belisarius. Fantastic.

The feed will then go quiet for a while and regular episodes will return at some point

in spring. I remain busy at work finishing all the videos of the sites in Istanbul and

then working on some Byzantine stories for those of you who like the bonus episodes.

And that brings me to our second topic for today's update.

As you probably know, there are currently two ways to get your hands on all the bonus

episodes that I've produced over the years. One is to buy them from the history of Byzantium.com

and the other is to become a patron of the show at patreon.com.

Well I am making plans to switch entirely to Patreon from October 2021.

The sales system over at the history of Byzantium.com has served me well but it does occasionally

crash and cause various other problems so it seems sensible to slowly put it to rest

and move everything over to Patreon where I can also offer advert free feeds.

The sales site will shut for good on the 23rd of October 2021 so there's no rush to make

the switch over and I will of course send reminders from time to time.
