Well, thank you, Simon. I'm really excited to be here today. So we're going to talk about your book.

It's called We Met on the Other Side. But first of all, I wanted to talk to you about your near-death

experience you had when you were four. What happened

there? Okay, thank you. Yes, when I was four, this was in the early 1960s, 1964, to be exact,

I was in a swimming pool in our neighborhood, and it was a very hot summer day. And I was in the

shallow end with my sister, who's a year older than I am,

and then my brother was in the kitty pool. My mother, who's a nurse, was there as well,

keeping an eye on us as well as she could with us being in two separate pools with my brother

and my sister and I. And there was a lifeguard there. It was just super crowded.

Well, I was I was kind of bobbing up and down on the floor of the pool, you know, in the very shallow end.

But I didn't realize that I kept going backwards with every bob up.

And so what happened, Simon, is that I ended up not touching the bottom of the pool on the last

back bob down and I started to swallow water.

Well, as I began to panic and try to tread water, I just couldn't get any kind of traction.
