scholar.com, a global technology firm, meaning business and every major continent. Transforming

the retail space with digital signage, tech layoffs. They've been in the stories recently in the

thousands from the most glamorous and high profile companies. Google, Tometa, to Apple, Microsoft

even, round the world. Thousands of young people we presume. However, the tech layoff story

Chris has been telling since we've calculated the fall of 21 when he traveled to Silicon Valley

during the depths of the recovery from the pandemic. When we had a few vaccinations and

there was still great turmoil about whether travel was safe. Chris, a very good even to

recall for everyone, please, what you saw when you looked at the window of a motel, a hotel

in Silicon Valley you were making business calls. You looked at parking lots. What did you

see?

John, I saw what would have been a fabulous Charlton Hust in 1970s post-apocalyptic

movie where all the people were gone, but the infrastructure was still there. So you

have all of these sprawling campuses in Silicon Valley, a very expensive place to do business,

beautiful buildings, wonderful environments, and no people. Everyone was working from home

and it was a clear indication that something had changed in the valley, even post-pandemic
