Today, how to talk to your parents about the strike,

Megan, you were just back from visiting your family.

Yes, so I went home to a big wedding for my childhood friend this past weekend.

And that also meant I had a lot of well-meaning midwestern boomers

asking me about the writer's strike.

And I'm not sure I answered all of their questions well,

but I noted them down because I was hoping that I could ask you

what's the best way to answer these.

Okay, Megan, I'm sure you did a great job answering all these questions.

I will not throw yourself under the bus for answering these questions,

but it's tough. It's weird when someone approaches you and says,

oh, so you're on strike, what does that even mean?

Right, and having to explain the entire way that Hollywood functions economically,

you know, over cocktails kind of tough.

Okay, so I've not had a chance to travel outside of Los Angeles since this hall began.
