increasing police budgets. Yet we all know there is an epidemic of people being

killed by police. In fact, the number of people being killed by police has been

growing every year since the 2015 protests against deadly racialized police violence.

We also know that the most disproportionate victims of those killings are young black men.

One victory for the movement against racialized police violence is the raising of awareness

over the last several years.

But what if that awareness of young black men being disproportionately killed at the hands of police

leads to the killings of other victims of police being obscured, even erased from our understanding

of deadly police violence.
