And on this episode, I am joined by Claire, who is an all about Agatha listener, to discuss

the Doctors of Agatha Christie. I am so excited about this episode listeners. Claire contacted me

a while ago and said, hey, it would be really fun to do with doctors and nurses of Agatha Christie episode. And don't worry,

the nurses of Agatha Christie are coming next because Claire will be back after this episode. But for

today, we are focusing on the doctors. And when she wrote me, as I am doing more and more these days,

I responded and said, great, do you want to do a ton of research? And then we can

record it together. And you know what? She said yes. And here we are. And when this episode comes out,

we will be a few days away from March 30th, which some of you might recognize as National Doctors Day

here in the United States. From what I've gathered online,

it's a day reserved for doctors in other countries as well. It's not an official holiday in the United Kingdom, alas. I was really hoping that it would be so we could get that

Agatha connection. The UK doesn't actually seem to have a doctor's day, which is why I figured

it was okay if we used

March 30th to celebrate doctors here at all about Agatha. So the timing just limed up. I also just

have to mention the reason that March 30th has been reserved for doctors is that the first ever use

of general anesthesia in surgery took place on March 30th, 1842 in Jefferson, Georgia, where a

Dr. Crawford used ether to remove a tumor from a patient. So, hooray, for medical advances.

That also means March 30th should be the date on which we all read, One, Two, Buckle My Shoe,

which features death by way of anesthesia in a medical setting. But don't worry,
