Congressman Lauren Underwood about maternal health care in this country and the crisis of black maternal mortality. Later on, we'll be chatting

with Veranda Rogers, a suburban mom from Ohio who founded pregnant with possibilities. And work like

hers is so necessary because maternal mortality, especially black maternal mortality, is a real crisis in this country.

And I think some people just don't know how serious the problem is.

So Amanda, can you let our listeners know some of the statistics about maternal mortality?

Because honestly, when I look at these statistics,

I am shocked.

So a lot of people don't realize how risky pregnancy actually is.

When we think in our brains of what is something really risky, we might think of something

like skydiving.

Like, that seems really risky.

You might die from that, right?
