0:44.4	headlines. Back in 2006, Haggard was ahead of the National Association of Evangelicals, a powerful
0:50.0	leader on the religious right founder of a mega mega church in Colorado Springs, which is probably
0:56.5	now a mega mega church like all the others. Haggard at the time had a weekly phone call with
1:01.7	then president George W. Bush, the worst president we thought we'd ever have, boy, where we wrong.
1:07.7	And Haggard wasn't just openly anti-gay. He was flagrantly anti-gay, flamingly anti-gay.
1:16.8	And then a gay sex worker heard Haggard publicly attacking gays and figured people had a right to
1:23.4	now Haggard had been privately attacking his dick. So Mike Jones, honest sex worker,
1:28.5	outed Ted Haggard, dishonest preacher. And it turns out Haggard wasn't just after sex from
1:34.3	Jones. He begged Jones to buy him meth and Jones had it all on tape. Voice mails. Haggard left him.
1:41.4	The Haggard sex scandal broke right before the 2006 midterm elections. And after that election,
1:47.2	a lot of political observers thought the Haggard scandal helped create a democratic wave that year.
1:52.3	In 2006, Dems took the House and Senate, a bunch of state houses and governors mansions. Voters were
1:58.0	disgusted with pious hypocrites like Ted Haggard and incompetent fucking idiots like George W. Bush.
2:05.2	Well, looks like the scandal fairy or the good omen fairy or both those fairies want this year's
2:10.9	midterm elections to go the way the 2006 midterm elections did. How else to explain Haggard making
2:16.8	headlines for being back on the poll just a few months before the rest of us go to the polls.
