com. There's just something about family members singing together.

I don't know if it's something resonant in the voices or maybe just the deep

familiarity with each other, but family bands are often special.

The Beach Boys, the Everly brothers, the Carpenters, the

Beegees, the Jackson Five, more recently, Hyam, the Jonas brothers. Singing well, being

musical, it's often a genetic trait, so it makes sense that if you get siblings

together to sing, when they do it well, they do it very well.

And that's true for sisters Danielle and Galit Dardashti, too.

They grew up in a Jewish-American family band, the Dardashti family.

They sang international folk music, but in 12 languages, English, Hebrew, Yiddish, Greek, Spanish, French, Japanese in more, but

never any songs in Persian.

And that's odd, because both their father and grandfather were famous Iranian singers during the golden age for Jews

and Iran before the Islamic Revolution.

Well that mystery, why no songs in Persian led to a bigger question.

Why did their family leave Iran in the first place?

Why leave their fame, their home?
