A gunman blasting shots near the campuses of Emory University and the Centers for Disease

Control and officer shot and killed.

ABC's Faith of Boube is in Atlanta with the details.

Good morning to you, Jane. It was a chaotic and frightening scene that sent panic throughout

this entire community. You can still see the police tape behind me surrounding the CVS building

where officers found that gunman shot to death. This morning, investigators say he shot and

killed a police officer who was responding to an active shooter call.

This morning, an urgent investigation underway after a gunman opened fire near the CDC headquarters in Atlanta,

killing a police officer. Today is a very dark day in DeKalb County.

Just before 5 p.m. Friday, multiple gunshots reported at a CVS on an intersection by the campus of Emory University and near the entrance of the CDC.
