In the coinciding seasons of Passover and Easter, two world religions celebrate their core

stories in ritual and worship.

The Christian Holy Week commemorates the death of Jesus leading to the Easter celebration

of resurrection, and in eight days of Passover, Jews remember and re-enact the Exodus story.

This hour, we'll explore faithful ways of living with ancient stories to give them modern

sense.

We'll hear insights of a 14th century mystic, poetry from Wendell Berry and provocative

reflections from New Testament scholar Richard Hayes and Rabbi Sandy Cesso.

Why is this night different from all other nights?

Passover begins in a Jewish home with preparations for the Seder, a meal which recalls the ancient

Israelites' liberation from slavery in Egypt.

For the meal, the youngest child present is invited to ask four established questions.

The questions set a tone of inquiry and wonderment at the Passover story.

Why is it that all other nights during the year we eat either bread or matzah?

But on this night we eat only matzah.
