This has been a hell of a week in American politics.

The wheels have fallen off the Republican Party.

And I wrote a big Hillary Clinton piece this week, and nobody read it because nobody cares about anything other than Donald Trump.

It is amazing to me that the media and the entire Republican establishment took six months to realize that they needed to scrutinize who Donald Trump was.

Everybody's been amused by the Trump show and all the

debates and stuff, and, you know, they've had their moments, but all throughout, I have been somewhat

less amused because I realize, as I think a lot of Republicans are doing now, that this guy could

actually be president of the United States. It is just, again, I am flabbergasted. I cannot believe it

has taken this long, but I guess better late than never. And I want to rant about something specifically.

On the day that Mitt Romney came out and delivered his blast against Donald Trump, Trump gave a 52-minute

speech that was telecast live on MSNBC, Fox, and CNN that was absolutely riddled with factual

errors, inaccuracies, and mischaracterizations.

And they portrayed this speech as simply Trump going after Romney.

This is what drives me crazy.

This is where I think the press has really dropped the ball. A lot of professional

malpractice here. Trump, at this point in time, as he's emerging as the nominee, I think the

principal job of the media now has to be to fact check him. And I thought Fox did an exceptional

job at the last debate. Megan Kelly deserves a lot of props for putting up video showing the various contradictions

in Trump statements and the various inaccuracies.

The biggest one to me is about Trump University.

It's a simple point, but I think it's indicative of the lack of scrutiny that he's gotten.
