Summary

Sally Kempton spent twenty years as a teaching monk in the Saraswati lineage and yet she is keenly in touch with the problems that everyday people face. On this episode, Sally and I talk about using yoga and meditation to help you cope with fear. She offers practical, helpful ideas and self-inquiry practices for working with and moving through fear so that you can reach resolution and not be at the mercy of your small (and big) fears and anxieties.Shownotes: yogalandpodcast.com/episode4/

Thinking will not overcome fear, but action will. If you want to conquer fear,

leaving our drug-addled verbally abusive boyfriend

because you have no savings and nowhere to live, or the fear that comes up when you

or someone you love is facing a life-threatening health condition.

1:21.1

Either way, what works for me is to approach fear directly, but also tenderly.

Running away from it or trying to brazenly blast through it

will rarely lead to resolution,

and you'll potentially miss out on the learning

and self-reflection that come with working through difficult emotions.
