The 49ers have three new coordinators on Kyle Shanahan's staff, and each was made available

for the first time to the media in their respective roles. Nearly four months after he agreed

to return to the 49ers' defensive coordinator, Robert Sala spoke publicly for the first time. He

shared his thoughts on why he was motivated to come back to the 49ers in the same role he held for four seasons before moving on to become head coach of the New York Jets.

Shanahan created the position of offensive coordinator for Clay Kubiak, and the 49ers made a change in the lead role after a disastrous season on special teams.
