All right. Do you guys remember when in our first session we talked about Luke 21?

And in case someone has joined us, I told you that we would circle back around to it, because

we ran into this mystery.

Now, without a shadow of a doubt, this was a Hebrew idiom.

You will not lose a hair on your head.

That was something that was said.

But I think there's more to it than that.

I truly do. I want to remind you what Jesus was talking about, the signs of the end of the age, and he was telling

them how they would testify on his behalf to the great gospel of Jesus Christ. And he tells him

some of the things. He said, I will give you a wisdom to speak that no one will be able to contradict.

But he says that they'll be betrayed by people.

He said, some of you'll be betrayed by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and

they will kill some of you.

You will be hated by everyone because of my name, but not a hair of your head will be lost.

By your endurance, gain your lives.

And so the question came that I think's fair game, that we should feel

safe enough with God to bring him our grappling and go, how does this work? How does it work that

you're our safe harbor and our strong tower, but some terrible things have happened to us, right? Some great and grave losses.

Lots and lots of pain and victimization and abuse, and we've done some unspeakable things that

still want to harass us in the dark. And so how do we make peace with that? And so I told you, I said,

I don't think it's just a figure of the speech. I think he's saying what you don't understand

is you are still completely safe, no matter what happens to you here. Now, he will often deliver us. Can we say
