It's Tuesday, the 2nd of July, 2 years and 134 days since the full scale invasion began.

Today I'm joined by assistant comment editor Francis Dernley

and Dr. J. McLin, senior associate at the Center for Strategic

and International Studies and a research in War Studies at Kings College

London.

I started with the latest news from Ukraine.

First let's go inside Russia and a huge fire has broken out in the Western

Russian city of Kursk with reports it's engulfed a large military base so we're

about 100 kilometers due north of Harkiv at this point.

Local officials said that over 60 firefighters are at the scene which is believed

to be the Central Aviation Technical Base.

Now unverified footage taken by residents and shown on social media

shows large plumes of grey smoke rising above the facility. The military base is said to house a large

number of vehicles used by Russia's Air Force. There's not yet been any

official comment on the cause of the fire. Inside Ukraine and Russian attacks across the country over the last day have

killed at least four people and injured nearly 50. This comes from regional authorities
