We're jumping on the Zoom call, different parts of the house to talk to you guys about the topic of the Sabbath and how do you create a family

friendly Sabbath day of rest. And one of the things that we are constantly asked when we

dive into this topic is how does this work for Christians? Like what does the Bible say about

the Sabbath and how do we think about this from a

theological perspective? So most of what this whole season is going to be about are very, very

practical practical conversations about how to do this. We want to really answer the how to

questions, but we also know that that gives rise to all kinds of theological questions. So we want to address those, talk through

how we think about this theologically, because this is a really challenging topic. I think that

the church has had a very interesting history with the idea of the Sabbath. There was a time, of course,

in the first and second century where the Jewish Sabbath and the Christian Sabbath were likely being celebrated in a very similar way.

Then there was a very stark separation that occurred in the third and fourth century where the Sabbath day was really altered from its original time on Saturday to be the worship day for the Christians on Sunday.

We've merged those two concepts at some point in the future in our history in the third and fourth century.
