And I'm the other host, Bree. And it's a beautiful day to podcast.

Hi, listeners. We hope you are doing well. We wanted to, before we even get into our normal

announcements to just kind of speak a little bit on what's been going on in the world right now. It's a

really hard and

difficult place. And we just wanted to make sure that our listeners all know where we stand

on these matters. And we released a statement, well, today, just so you guys know, is Tuesday,

June 2nd. Usually you are going to hear this episode a little later than what we're actually

recording. But today we released a statement

on Instagram and our Facebook page, and we'll be sending a message out to our patrons as well.

But we wanted to say it here. And our statement is that Bree and I strongly believe that Black Lives

Matter, and we want you to know that. Our goal has always been to create an open dialogue about

Gray's Anatomy, the stories of

characters in the show, and the creators who made it. As two white women creating this podcast, we

understand that we may never understand what our black brothers and sisters go through,

but we want you to know that we are listening, we hear you, and we see you. Systematic racism uses silence as a tool to further harm the black men, women, children, and trans people who are already being harmed and killed every day in this country for the color of their skin with little to know justice.

I want you, or we want you to know that we are in this fight to see justice is served.

After years of deep diving the episodes of Grace Anatomy, we have a responsibility to put the lessons we have learned from it to good use.

Grace Anatomy has always been a show that didn't shy away from hard stories or uncomfortable realities,

and now is not the time for us to stand silent.
