Good evening, everybody. And the beauty and the brains of the show, Megan Horan.

Well, thank you very much. I'm glad to be here. How are we doing?

Doing fine. We're doing really fine.

We have a lot of surprises for our guests in the next few weeks, fortunately, and thank

them for all their participation and the reviews, and we may be moving up.

With that said, let's get to tonight's program. And Pat found something very

interesting that I want to share selfishly, not realizing that some people are still suffering

from a childhood disease that I shared. Okay. Holyo created its ugly head in the late 40s, early 50s. Johnny was a victim. Those of you who read the book are aware of that. They didn't have modern ventilators back then. Of course, the technology is advanced over the years. But it has something called an iron lung, which aided you in breathing if you had polio and it affected your breathing.

The iron lung was about seven feet long and cylindrical.

I would say circumference, probably about four feet, four or five feet.

This thing was huge.

Yeah, I remember them.

It kept people alive.

And the way it worked is they were slid into this thing.

You could probably find pictures of it online with people actually inserted in it.

The people that had polio that couldn't breathe were inserted into it,

and the only thing that was exposed was their head.

They were on a cot, the body was on the cot on the inside.
