We have read his book practicing the power and it is so good because what he does is he takes, you know, those of us that grew up, which I did in a very conservative place,

theologically, and he adds to that you know what there is

also power in the spirit of God and those of us that are not familiar with that

or have words for that or language with that

maybe didn't grow up in that he does such an excellent job of biblically and

theologically building out the Holy Spirit and the power of God we miss and the

authority that we miss because we just don't delve into that,

whether it's because of fear or whatever else.

You changed my daughter's life, she read your book and it just is so fun to have you on today so thank you for coming well it's a

delight to be with you I've been looking forward to this okay so let's dive in I

want to talk about today what we're going to be talking about is this idea that there is power in the presence of God and that we are not

Stuck in patterns of sin that we actually have been given probably more authority in power than we realize.

So let's start with those that might feel cynical or feel like, gosh, is this about to get way

too charismatic for us?

Let's start with your story of just how this really shifted for you because you came from a pretty

conservative background. I did. I was raised Southern Baptist, went to Dallas Theological Seminary,

Pastered for many many years without, you know, I had a I think I had a theological or theoretical belief in the reality of the supernatural realm, but nothing of a real practical tangible experience with it.
