Here to question my version of the American economy.

Liz, the American economy is strong, really strong.

I know we're at war.

I know there are questions about gasoline and jet fuel.

I know there's a lot of contra-temp in the land when it comes to the midterms. But the economy is just strong. Does this make sense, Liz?

Good evening to you. Good evening, John. Yeah. The economy is just powering through what the media

relentlessly calls them the oil shock. And certainly oil prices have skyrocketed

because of the Iran war. But it does not seem to be having a big impact on companies or on consumers.

And I think there are a couple of things going on that are worth noting. Remember, last week,

we had the lowest unemployment benefit claims number in several decades.

I mean, it was really an extraordinary thing.

And today we have a Joltz report out, which is the job openings report, that hirings were up substantially in the month of March.

So that is incredibly good news because, of course, the one

thing that everybody has been watching is whether the labor market begins to crumble under the

pressures of AI or because of cost increases related to oil right now today, as of today,

and it could change because we have a JAWS report. The Bureau of Labor

Statistics report comes out Friday. We'll get an ADP read tomorrow. But as of today, the judge numbers
